On Sakurajima Volcano lava Field (15 minutes ferry from Kagoshima)from its last explosion not long ago.
This Toril gate buried to its shoulders from flowing lava...
Ahhhhh! ...half of Sakurajima blown away from last eruption...
...as we climbed up to see volcano up real close smoking...clouds descended from heaven or was it hell and volcano and smoke began to disappear from our view...P suggested we do a cloud dance to blow the clouds away...but instead we got torrential rain thunder and lightning ...we quickly crossed back to Kagoshima and it was raining so much that you could hardly see one feet in front of you ...and Sakurajima just vanished in thin air...it was real spooky!
...after Sakurajima scare ...relaxing in hot spring pool on Kagoshima as all around us flood gates are opened from heaven above with thunder and lightning show thrown in for good measure!..we half expected Sakurajima to erupt any moment!...and we were out of there real quick in a Shinkansen!
...our last Shinkansen journey from Kagoshima to Fukuoka/Hakata...4 hours...the new Shinkansen....isnt she a beauty!
